This hanging scroll bears the signature of a samurai who appears in Japanese literature in the 14th century.

How about a time trip starting with an old signature?

 Tamotsu Uryu ( ?-1337)

 This hanging scroll was found at a second-hand store in Fukuoka, 2017.
This scroll has Maka Hannya Haramitashin-gyo Sutra with an image of deity.

  Signature :

Minamoto Futo,

meaning 'Immortal' or

'One who never falls down'.
  The seal impression :

Uryu Hangan/Hogan

Minamoto Tamotsu.

  Who is Uryu Tamotsu or Minamoto Futo?
