From 1910 to 1912, Makoto Masaki (an educator:1874-1943)

visited many cities in Europe and North America.

His purpose was to study the education system in developed countries.

Although he sometimes experienced hard times in foreign countries

during the travel on steamships, steam locomotives and in carriages,

his comments on the postcards addressed to his small son

were always warm.

The old postcards have kept the warm feelings even today.
