Tokuyasu Fukuda's calligraphy, Setting and Photo:The Toki Museum
Calligraphy: The source of the written work is from the Chinese poem.
This work shows a part of Dai Shulun's poem made in Tang dynasty.
山花水鳥皆知己 meaning "Mountains, flowers, and waterfowls
are all my friends who understand me."
In ancient China, it was believed that there were islands
in the eastern sea where hermits enjoyed clean and quiet life.
瀛洲（Eishu) is one of the islands, also known as the Japanese
poetry name, and ancient Chinese alchemists and
fortune-tellers traveled in search of the island.
By the way, there was a state called 瀛州（Eishu） in ancient China.
景州（Keishu) , which can be seen in the red stamp of the "calligraphy"
in the photo (bottom), was the name of the state divided from
瀛州（Eishu), however there is not either state today.
The red stamp of the "calligraphy" has four kanji characters,
景州学口. What does it mean? Does the pen name have
some connection with the ancient state of China?
It may be a good theme for a quiet moonlit-night mystery walk.
How about a time trip to travel the past while fantasizing about
the ancient sea?
